“Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?” Queen’s lyrics would accurately describe the questions presented to the audience — dare we say, the “souls” — by kaRaoKe MoTeL, Dead White Zombies’ last installment in their three-part series on the afterlife. An immersive performance of chance and choice, kaRaoKe MoTeL is both a predestined narrative and a karma-driven game of luck. Written by Thomas Riccio, Dallas’ very own (and very well-regarded) experimental playwright, his dream world explores the deep questions surrounding this world and the next. What happens and does it matter? Do we have any control? It’s an exciting and thought-provoking event experienced in real time throughout the sprawling West Dallas Icehouse. kaRaoKe MoTeL will run November 20-December 4 at the Icehouse (2516 N. Beckley Ave.). Tickets are $15 for students and $20 for everyone else, and they’re available via deadwhitezombies.com.
