In 1962, some of the finest folks in Dallas headed to the Texas Theatre (231 W. Jefferson Blvd.) to see Dr. No, the first film in the James Bond franchise. Now, 50 years later, we’re heading to the same movie house to catch Skyfall, the 23rd installment of spyjinx. Bond got cuter, ticket prices got higher and the theater got quite the makeover, but if ever there were a place to celebrate the arrival of a new Bond film, it’d be here. Proving once again that it’s more than just a movie theater, the Texas Theatre (231 W. Jefferson Blvd.) is celebrating the culture of the espionage film in Bond-approved style, with a screening of Skyfall (in Texas Theatre-style 35mm). Tickets are $9.50 with special discounts available. Call 214-948-1546 or visit thetexastheatre.com.
Tuesdays-Sundays. Starts: Nov. 10. Continues through Dec. 2, 2012
