What happens when, instead of a glass slipper, Cinderella leaves one of her smelly tennis shoes behind when she flees the ball? Well, the prince better have a clothespin for his nose as he visits the other fair maids while looking for his beloved. Inanimate objects come to life in Cinderella and the Stinky Slipper when the marionettes of Slappy’s Puppet Playhouse tell this wacky take on the fairy tale. Slappy’s is the creation of professional clowns Tiffany Riley and Dick Monday, the former director of the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Clown College, so you know the show will be funny. Tickets are $8 for kids (free under age 3), $9 for adults. Showtimes are 10:30 a.m. Fridays, 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays at Slappy’s Puppet Playhouse, located in the Galleria Mall next to Nordstrom’s on Level Three. Call 214-369-4849.
Saturdays, 10:30 a.m. & 1 p.m.; Sundays, 2 p.m.; Fridays, 10:30 a.m. Starts: Jan. 6. Continues through March 25
