For the most part, cover bands are a huge letdown. They’re cheesy, over the top and, more often than not, generally disappointing. That said, Rain: A Tribute to The Beatles seems to be everything but the typical gang of wannabes. This musical tribute to one of the greatest bands of all time features four look-alikes who not only don the suits and mop-tops, but turn the prolific career of John, Paul, George and Ringo into an interactive, psychedelic experience. Audiences will get the chance to see Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band performed live, ornate costumes and all, in a way it never was while the foursome were still a band. The show is set to start 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Music Hall at Fair Park and will run through Sunday, March 21. Showtimes are at 8 p.m. nightly, with 2 p.m. matinee performances scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, March 20 and 21. Visit dallassummermusicals.org for tickets and more information.

March 16-21, 8 p.m.; Sat., March 20, 2 p.m.; Sun., March 21, 2 p.m., 2010
