I love sushi and sake, but ask me about either and I’ll give you a blank face of embarrassment. Thus, it would be wise for me to consider SushiSamba’s Guided Sake Tasting and Do-It and Eat-It Yourself Sushi Class. Drinking and eating for education’s sake is by far the best way to increase my knowledge, and fish is total brain food. In their two-part class, students taste five different sakes while learning about their varieties and food pairings. Then they get to roll one. Students learn about buying and preparing raw fish for sushi roll creations and how to make that tricky sticky rice. Graduation comes when everyone eats his own sushi. I’ve never seen this in continuing education. The first class is 7 p.m. Monday at SushiSamba, 13270 Dallas Parkway in the Galleria. Call 214-866-0214 or visit sushisamba.com.
