The sheer joy exhibited by the dancers and singers with Empower African Children is nothing short of captivating. The 22 performers, ages 9 to 22, combine standing drums, layered rhythms and call-and-response vocals for the last show of The Spirit of Uganda in their 21-city tour of the United States, taking place this Thursday in the Baker Theater of the Rosewood Center for the Family Arts, 5938 Skillman St. The fund-raiser benefits EAC and the Dallas Children’s Theater. Tickets are $100. A reception kicks off at 6:30 p.m.; the performance follows at 7:30 p.m. Call or visit dct.org.
