$10,000

Leave it to those scamps at Oliver Francis to come up with tonight’s feat of endurance meets performance art spectacle: Hands On An Art Body. Done in the style of ’60s endurance phenomenons and the documentary Hands on a Hard Body, in which competitors kept one hand stuck to the side of a truck in effort to win its title (last one to pass out, wins!), this show uses artwork as its prize. Would-be contestants are invited to scope out the available work from 6 to 9 p.m., prior to the contest’s 9 p.m. start. Participants can choose any piece in the gallery, but we warned: They’ve been designed to “resist contact.” The last person left touching a piece of artwork will take it home, but not without a bit of interference. According to O.F., “The participants will endure bizarre installation and social deprivation,” but they won’t be without booze. Cocktail waitresses will make deliveries. Watch as the boundaries and meaning of ownership become blurred at Oliver Francis Gallery, 209 South Peak St. Visit oliverfrancisgallery.com.
