When the weekend officially begins depends on many things … like exactly how shitty has your week been? Extra special shitty? Well, kick it off Thursday with the ladies of The Quake. They’re putting on a burlesque and variety show that promises “earth shaking shimmies, mind blowing illusions and tunes to make you quiver and quake.” It’s old-school burlesque at its over-the-top finest — a Vegas-style tease show from the Golden Era — all glitz and glam back when women used powder puffs and fake moles. The entire evening is brought to you by Honey Cocoa Bordeauxx, an award-winning entertainer and her crew of fabulous bitches, including Frostine Shake and the Viva Dallas Burlesque showgirls — Elle Du Jour and Honey Hula-La. Confetti Eddie will dazzle you with his latest illusions, while the go-go group The Pistolettes blasts your pants off with their electrifying tunes. The show starts at 9:30 p.m. at Three Links, 2704 Elm St. in Deep Ellum. Tickets are $10.
