Whether you’re a runner, a walker or someone looking for some morning festivities, head over to the Bishop Arts District Saturday for the Dash for the Beads, the kick-off event for Mardi Gras Oak Cliff. On the schedule of activities are a 5K run, a 1-mile walk and a family- (and pet-) friendly costume contest and festival, all benefiting Oak Cliff beautification projects. Get up bright and early and start your Mardi Gras celebration the festive but fit way–the walk begins at 8:30 a.m., followed by the 5K run at 9 a.m. Register online by Thursday or at 7:30 a.m. the day of the race.
