One design student’s much-blogged-about tattoo sleeve, by artist Nick Baxter, features not pinup girls, but chairs. That’s right—photorealistic skin artworks such as Charles and Ray Eames’ Lounge Chair and Ottoman. But the Eameses were more than furniture-makers (and tattoo inspiration): They also made 100-plus short films addressing their theories of design. Design Within Reach’s Eames Film Festival features seven of these films along with a presentation by Charles’ grandson on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 4524 McKinney Ave. Call 214-521-0100.
