I love my apartment. It’s tiny, it’s old, and it has a hole in the floor, but I love it. I’ll have you over for drinks sometime. But when I see those displays at Ikea showing how one can live in so little space with fabulous design and organization, I get perturbed that mine doesn’t look that way. UTD’s artist residency, Centraltrak, reassured me that I’ve got to go with my own flow, much like the artists in their latest installation, False Space and Time of the Apartment. It’s less about interiors and more about interpretations of space using art and architecture with found objects and even Naugahyde. I just wish the artists could do something with my place. False Space and Time of the Apartment runs till June 16 at Centraltrak, 800 Exposition Ave. Visit utdallas.edu/centraltrak for further information.
Mondays-Fridays. Starts: May 21. Continues through June 16, 2008
