Nine miles is a short distance relative to oh, say, the distance to the moon. However, I can think of a couple of times when traveling nine miles can feel like 90. For instance, nine miles in five o’clock traffic can be excruciating, or how about running those nine miles? As in a 15K race–I’ve always wanted to be one of those people; the closest I ever got was a 5K when I was trying to lose my ass. (However, I’ve since grown fond of it and decided I’ll keep it.) I do have great admiration for runners and the mythical creatures they are, though. This year’s Jog’r Egg Nog’r 15K and 5K Run starts at 9 a.m. Saturday. Prices range from $22 to $35 depending on the race and the date you register. The race starts at the corner of Peavy Road and Van Dyke. It ends at Norbuck Park where, after some serious H2O, eggnog is available for further hydration, and apparently it comes in a “super” variety. Hmm. For more information visit thrustonracing.com.
