I met this guy in Connecticut who told me about traveling to Greenwich—a fancypants seaside town I happened to live in at the time. As we discussed its multitude of upscale eateries, he said, “I went to this place—it was amazing. It’s the International…House of Pancakes?” I laughed and looked up to see he was totally serious. “They have, like, pancakes from all over the world!” Just goes to show you, one woman’s “It’s better than Denny’s, I guess…” is another man’s “My God, it was incredible!” Celebrate National Pancake Day with free flapjacks for all comers from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday at all IHOP locations nationwide.
