Human beings can make the strangest noises. That little vocal box in your throat can imitate everything from animals to other people. Like the rest of the animal kingdom, we use noise to communicate or entertain. And if your name is Michael Winslow, noise is your personal brand of comedy. Famous for his role in the Police Academy movies, Winslow now takes his stand-up act on the road, in which most of his jokes are accompanied by sound effects. See him bark like a dog or roar like an engine when he takes the stage at the Addison Improv, 4980 Belt Line Road, at 8 p.m. Friday. He’ll reprise his act several times throughout the weekend. Tickets are $20-30 and available at improv.com.
Fri., July 4, 8 p.m.; Sat., July 5, 7 p.m., 2014
