Taking a break from the holiday cooking can be tough, especially when the extended family has decided to pin your home as this year’s Thanksgiving hub. Sure, baking pumpkin pies and thawing out the turkey are weighing down your holiday to-do list, but what’s better than dropping those duties for an afternoon full of shopping? This year’s Winter Art Mart and Silent Auction has invited more than 60 artists, including Fred Garder, Rebecca Guy and Teri Muse, to present their unique pieces for holiday shoppers across the region. Artwork includes paintings, jewelry and photography, and the proceeds benefit the Bath House Cultural Center’s visual and performing arts programs. The Art Mart lasts from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, November 19, and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, November 20, at the Bath House Cultural House, 521 E. Lawther Drive. Parking and admission is free. For more information, call 213-670-8749, or visit dallasculture.org/bathhouseculturecenter.
Sat., Nov. 19, 12-6 p.m.; Sun., Nov. 20, 11 a.m.-6 p.m., 2011
