People love to hate on the Eagles, but give them some credit: They created an entirely new music genre where rock peters out and where country doesn’t kick in. The Eagles mined this bland space between rock and country for a decade, selling millions of records and leading the way for Restless Heart, Diamond Rio, Rascal Flatts, Kenny Chesney, Sister Hazel and a host of other otherworldly nightmares, including Glenn Frey’s solo career and Travis Tritt’s cover of “Take It Easy.” If you prefer a better version of “Take It Easy,” then do we have news for you. Tequila Sunrise: a Tribute to the Eagles, i.e. an Eagles tribute band, is coming to Dallas. They’ll probably play you some Chesney or Tritt if you ask them nicely. One of these nights, specifically Saturday, Tequila Sunrise will play at the House of Blues, 2200 N. Lamar St. Gates open at 8 p.m.; the show starts an hour later. Tickets are $10. Call 214-978-BLUE or visit hob.com.
Sat., Aug. 18, 8 p.m.
