We’re all sick of winter and coats and mittens and those damn scarves. Escape the crap, if only for a day, and look at pretty flowers at the Dallas Arboretum (8525 Garland Road). Dallas Blooms Festival is in full swing and it’s “one of the most spectacular floral displays in the world featuring over 500,000 bulbs.” That’s half of one million bulbs sprouting into incredible tulips so breathtaking Southern Living Magazine said this “world-class tulip show is the best spot this side of Holland to see these beautiful flowers.” This year’s theme is “Birds in Paradise” and will feature life-size interactive birdhouses designed by local architects. Each birdhouse offers a “Did You Know?” on a variety of our feathered friends. Dallas Blooms runs through Saturday, April 6. The Arboretum is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free for members, $15 for adults, with discounts for seniors and children.
