From the debut of the flapper dress to the Wall Street crash, the United States in the ’20s was a country in flux. But how did that affect Texas? Throw on your cowboy boots and experience Texas in the Twenties through approximately 30 works by Texas artists L.O. Griffith, Mary Anita Bonner and Eugene Omar Goldbeck at the Dallas Museum of Art (1717 N. Harwood Street). Complementing the DMA’s Youth and Beauty: Art of the American Twenties, this exhibition features gathering drawings, etchings, prints and photographs ranging from Texas landscape, to the life of a working cowboy leading up to the Great Depression. As you walk through the gallery, watch as Dallas transforms from an agricultural city into one of the nation’s major centers of transportation.
