There are obnoxious barbecue enthusiasts and there are insufferable beer enthusiasts, but between them is the rarest breed of all, known around eating circles as Mega Food Beer Dork. Thanks to the so-called beer knurds at the Flying Saucer Draught Emporioum, this Mega Food Beer Dork is in luck. The second annual BeerBQ Fest has returned to the Flying Saucer, supplementing its standard 200 plus beer menu with seasonal brews. The fest will highlight several breweries by tapping a total of 12 beers throughout the night. Two full hours will be dedicated to Dogfish Head’s special “Red & White” and “Black & Blue.” Other breweries attending include Saint Arnold, Left Hand, North Coast and Brooklyn, all accompanied by the Saucer’s pulled pork sandwiches, BBQ nachos and sausage links. The beer will flow Sunday, noon to 7 p.m. at the Flying Saucer Draught Emporium at 14999 Montford Drive, Addison. Admission is free, food and drink are not. For more information, visit beerknurd.com.
