So you didn’t make it to Sundance this year. You intended to go, but you just couldn’t swing the vacation time, right? Excuses, excuses. Who are you trying to kid—you call yourself a film lover, yet you didn’t even make it to the USA Film Festival, and that was just down the street. Well, now’s the time to atone for your film fan faux pas. The 10th Annual International Jewish Film Festival hits town this week featuring eight comedies and dramas, as well as The Ritchie Boys, a documentary about a World War II intelligence unit of German-born American Jews who collected life-saving information, with Dallas-area Ritchie Boys in attendance. Considering more than half of the award-winning films are making their Dallas debut at the festival, this is a can’t-miss event for any cinephile. The 10th Annual International Jewish Film Festival of Dallas takes place Thursday through September 17, with screenings at the Angelika Film Center, the Shops at Legacy in Plano, 7805 Bishop Road, and at the Jewish Community Center Zale Auditorium in Dallas, 7900 Northaven Road. Tickets start at $8. Call 214-739-2737 or visit jccdallas.org.
