I’m a big Paul Newman fan, but strangely I have never tried any product from his purportedly excellent line of salad dressings. Conversely, I have never heard the gospel singer known as Djore, though I have faithfully used his line of pore-clearing facial strips for years. This Wednesday I might finally remedy the former when Djore Nance (a graduate of Dallas’ own Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts who’s gone on to sing back-up for Celine Dion) shows off his gospel stylings and five-octave range at St. Luke United Methodist Church, 5710 E. R.L. Thornton Freeway, where he’ll be joined by Grammy award-winning gospel star Myron Butler and one-time American Idol finalist Anwar Robinson. The concert starts at 6 p.m. Call 214-821-2970.
