“No Shave November” used to be a college excuse for you and your bros to see how scraggly you could get in a month, when you discovered your beard grows in mostly as mutton chops and that one guy had no facial hair except for a tuft at the right corner of his mouth. Now Movember is a real thing. For those of you who don’t know, Movember, a portmanteau of “mustache” and “November,” is a month-long mustache-growing event meant to raise money and awareness for prostate cancer. And for those of you who don’t know, a portmanteau is a new word made from two pre-existing words. Movember is hosting a costume party at World of Beer, 5600 SMU Blvd., at 5 p.m. Saturday with all proceeds going to prostate and testicular cancer programs. There will be swag, raffles and silent auctions, and you should come dressed as whatever character best suits your mustache. For more information visit us.movember.com.
