On Saturday the people of Denton took to Downtown’s streets for the annual Day of the Dead Festival. The family friendly event includes a stage for local musicians, a salsa cook off, screenings from the 48 Hours of Hell short film contest, multiple performances of the Cirque Du Horror show and a costume parade. But the day’s biggest highlight is always the Coffin Races, a sort of mad cap soapbox derby for adults.

Parts of the festival were rained out by the evening’s Thunderstorms, but not before photographer Stephen Masker captured the day in photos.
