Thursday through Saturday, the gang at Q Cinema presents the 12th annual Gay & Lesbian International Film Festival, spotlighting the latest and greatest in gay cinema. Featured films include the opening night Southwest premiere of Violet Tendencies, a rom-com starring The Facts of Life‘s Mindy Cohn as a thirty-something “fag hag” in search of a “fag stag” to romance; Ticked-Off Trannies with Knives, which is pretty much exactly what it sounds like; Texas-made short films like Tyler Cochran’s I Hate Josh, Daniel Trevino’s Amateur and Jonathan D. Quam’s Would Jesus Discriminate?; and finally, Sunday’s festival closer Children of God, a heavily acclaimed tale of love and homophobia set in the Bahamas. Single movie tickets are $10, or $15 on opening or closing night. All films play at the Rose Marine Theater, 1440 N. Main St. in Fort Worth. Visit qcinema.org for more info.
