$10,000

I don’t get why standing in the dark surrounded by coyotes and strange rustling wouldn’t be a nightmare, but I’m a nature-hating person who sucks down high-fructose corn syrup, dumps pollutants in the ground water, kicks a tree and calls it a day. If you’re a better person, check out the Night Hike at The Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary Saturday. A trail guide will lead you on an outdoor tour into the lives of nocturnal wildlife. They recommend you wear long pants and close-toed shoes–probably to protect yourself from all those pesky coyotes. The hike is $12, $10 for members. Registration is required. Call 972-562-5566, ext. 237.
