Certain memories will stick with you forever. Like the time you tried to cheer up a weeping willow tree because you thought it was sad, or the time when you screamed “MURDERER!” at a clown and bolted out an exit door during your first haunted house experience. Ah yes, I was a young girl during my first trip to Verdun Manor. Back then it was just the one haunted house with the creepy old lady sitting in the rocking chair, telling everyone in line that they weren’t going to make it out alive. Now it’s been renamed Thrillvania Thrill Park and offers tons of options to make you scream like a little girl and curl up in the fetal position. They now have the Voodoo Bayou, and I’m guessing it’s filled with zombie alligators and witches? Who knows? Thrillvania also has Granny Lupus Seance Theatre (that would be the old creepy lady) among other frightful attractions to keep you supplied with nightmares over the next week. Thrillvania (2330 County Road 138 in Terrell) will be haunting souls through Saturday. For tickets and info, visit thrillvania.com.

Fridays-Sundays, 7:30 p.m. Starts: Oct. 16. Continues through Oct. 31, 2009
