As the tornadoes blew in on April 3, most of us did the logical thing and sought shelter at Medieval Times (it’s a fortress, after all). But not local photographer Parrish Ruiz de Velasco: he was in Lancaster, in the thick of it with his camera. He caught some great images of the ruthless weather, but one in particular just made Time Magazine‘s list of the Ten Best Photographs of 2012.

Way to go Parrish. You stared down mother nature and won.
