$10,000

We understand there are many reasons why people think that Fort Worth is a better city than Dallas. A much cooler downtown, more affordable homes, better steak houses and, of course, the Trinity actually resembling a river as it winds through Cowtown. But then again, Dallas has the Mavericks, who at this writing are looking like they won’t lose more than 15 games all year before proceeding to claim their rightful NBA title. On the other hand, Fort Worth is only good enough to have a minor-league basketball team called the Fort Worth Flyers. We shoot. We score. The Fort Worth Flyers take on the Bakersfield Jam 7 p.m. Friday at the Fort Worth Convention Center, 1201 Houston St. Call 817-698-8333 or visit nba.com/dleague/fortworth.

Fri., Dec. 1, 7 p.m.
