The heart–beating, breaking, soaring, aching, the seat of the soul, the source of emotions, the nub of luv–is the inspiration for music, cinema, novels, theater and 5K races. Of the latter, the HeartBeat 5K and Healthy Heart Fair is being held from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, which should give you time to pace yourself and finish the race. Proceeds benefit a bunch of heartwarming causes directed at the underserved Vickery Meadow neighborhood. For further info call 214-345-8442.
