I’ve never really thought of mash-ups as more than a DJ novelty trick, something to make people on the dance floor pause for a second and say to themselves, “Huh, I guess those songs kind of do fit together.” But somehow combining various collages from existing works of visual art seems like a perfectly legitimate endeavor. Kenneth Hale cuts, digitizes and distorts to do just that in his exhibit Landscape into Art. Also on display are Ginger Geyer‘s The Porcelain Reformation and Losing Ground: Imaginary Landscape by Jacqueline Bishop. All three hang through May 15 at The McKinney Avenue Contemporary (The MAC), 3120 McKinney Ave. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays.
