Hope. It’s a simple four-letter word that, like love, is hard to define in concrete terms. In a way, the two are intertwined. What is love without hope? The best kind of love is seen in action. Roberta Harris believes hope should be seen the same way. That’s why her latest exhibit, UP, attempts to inspire viewers to journey on a pathway of hope at a time when hope is a little hard to catch. “Hope is not wishful thinking. Hope is rather the ability to stand amid what is broken and chaotic and envision a positive future story,” Harris says. Saturday at 1 p.m., families can gather at The Women’s Museum for an afternoon of fun-filled activities inspired by the collection. Cost of the event is free with museum admission. If you would like to attend, please RSVP at 214-915-0876 or rsvp@thewomensmuseum.org.
