Over the years, vampires have gone from the mystical creatures of Nosferatu to the high societal members of Interview With the Vampire to the dumbasses of Underworld. The voodoos, meanwhile, have evolved from a person sticking pins in a doll to a crazy person stabbing a pin-up doll with a needle to voodoo queens screaming like crazy cat ladies. Set aside these wild representations and explore their cultural and artistic side starting at 10 a.m. Monday at the Richland Arts Fest at Richland College (12800 Abrams Road). From art demonstrations to lectures to a blood drive to a scavenger hunt to movie screenings, you might walk away with a newfound admiration. Admission is free and the festival lasts all week.
