Pre-season seems to exist for two reasons: to give the sports junkies a quick fix, and to give everyone a taste of what to expect from a team. Like an international friendly, a pre-season game gives a team automatic bragging rights in the case or a win, or an honest excuse (“Hey, we’re still testing stuff out!”) in the case of a loss, and Your Dallas Stars will be no exception. Recovering from a couple of lackluster seasons (with no playoff appearances in two years) and the loss of everyone’s favorite golden boy (so long Mikey Mo), the Stars have something to prove, and they plan on doing just that this week as Your Dallas Stars take on the Tampa Bay Lightning in the first Modano-free game of 2010 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the American Airlines Center North Parking Lot, 2500 Victory Plaza.
