Let’s say you really like pizza, but you don’t like tomato sauce or cheese. So you order pizza without tomato sauce and cheese. If you’re still calling that piece of bread with pepperoni on it “pizza,” you’re a crazy person. Or maybe you love mammals, but not fur or things with four legs. If this is the case, you see, you don’t love mammals or pizza at all. So if you love rock and roll but hate good tunes and seedy music clubs, the upcoming Smashmouth concert at the Gaylord Texan’s Glass Cactus nightclub is totally for you. Well air-conditioned, generally clean and full of people who think the summer of 1997 rocked all the harder because they wouldn’t stop playing “Walkin’ on the Sun” on adult contemporary radio stations, the Glass Cactus will be the perfect destination for non-rocking rockers. In the same vein, if you’re the kind of person who loves fireworks but hates being outside or seeing actual fire, there will be an indoor fireworks show conducted in the climate-controlled 72-degree atrium on the same evening. Unrock out this Friday night at the SummerFest kickoff at the Gaylord Texan, 1501 Gaylord Trail in Grapevine. Fireworks are free, and Smashmouth tickets are $28.
