Sure, you may consider yourself a good cook–but if you rely on a pantry full of dried spices to inspire your entrees, you’re missing out. Ditch the stale seasonings and learn how to grow your own fresh herbs. On Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., head over to Texas Discovery Gardens and check out Organic University: Herbs. You don’t have to have a green thumb to get down and dirty, just be ready to take some notes as you learn how to garden in the Texas climate, when to plant what and where to plant it. For more information, call 214-428-7476, ext. 343 or contact programs@texasdiscoverygardens.org.

Sat., May 29, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., 2010
