Butterflies are all sunshine and puppy dogs, flitting from flower to flower with grace and beauty. Harmless, of course, and even inspirational. Except for the time back in ’92 when one of them flew in my ear while I was playing outside, and I nearly bailed headfirst out of my tree fort. So I’ll probably avoid the Skies of Butterflies exhibit at the Texas Discovery Garden, seeing as how at least one of the little creatures has committed attempted murder against me. Braver souls than mine will be able to walk through a giant flight cage containing hundreds of butterflies and butterfly fun facts. The exhibit runs Saturday through October 24 at the gardens, 3601 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Exhibit hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the State Fair and until 5 p.m. before and after the fair closes.
