Slappy’s Puppet Playhouse says its shows are “outstanding family entertainment.” Phew. I was wondering where I’d take the kiddies after their purity was spoiled at the “fun for the whole family” St. Patrick’s Day Parade, in which one float glided down Greenville Avenue bearing a troupe of thong-clad strippers gyrating on poles. “Mommy, I wanna dance like that.” “Um, no, you don’t.” Actually, I don’t have kids, but if I did, I’d take ’em straight to Slappy’s. How can you beat a marionette rendition of Willy Wonka? The classic will be performed Saturday through June 10 on the third level of the Galleria mall. Shows are 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sundays. Call 214-369-4849 for information.
Fridays, Saturdays, 10:30 a.m.; Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: March 31. Continues through June 10
