In just a few more months, thousands upon thousands of NFL fans, celebrities, dignitaries and the prostitutes and strippers that serve them will descend upon our fair metroplex for the media zoo that will be Super Bowl XLV. It remains to be seen whether our own Dallas Cowboys will have what it takes to make it to the big game, but considering it’s the team’s 50th anniversary, and the game’s on their home turf…well, let’s just say that expectations are sky high. At 7:30 p.m. this Friday, get your Super Bowl hopes up with the XLV Countdown Live from Cowboys Stadium, a season opening event celebrating the aforementioned 50th anniversary, Emmitt Smith’s Hall of Fame induction and the long-awaited arrival of our very own Super Bowl here in North Texas. Country superstar Tim McGraw headlines the evening, which promises “fun for the entire family!” If “fun” means Jerry Jones and Roger Staubach performing an impromtu dance to “Indian Outlaw,” we’re there. Tickets start at $25, but the memories will last a lifetime…unless Romo fucks it all up again. No pressure, dude. Visit northtexassuperbowl.com or ticketmaster.com for more info.
