The concept is similar to the Glitches Be Damned event hosted by Denton's infamous Good/Bad Art Collective in 1995, in which participants had only 12 hours to complete their projects and results were screened that evening. The 24-Hour Video Race is a competition, however, and while all completed films will be screened beginning Tuesday, a panel of judges will determine which films will advance to the "final judging" taking place on May 23. You won't want to miss the frenzied results, which at the very least will be better than Crash.
The Fifth Annual 24-Hour Video Race Screenings take place beginning at 7 p.m. Tuesday through May 18 at the Angelika Film Center, 5321 E. Mockingbird Lane. Tickets are $3. Call 214-841-4700 or visit 24hourvideoracedallas.com.
