Have you heard the term "sports royalty?" Former Los Angeles Dodger and three-time MLB all-star Matt Kemp may not be King Louis XIV, but his sprawling home in Celina, recently listed for sale for $6.5 million, takes a pretty good swing at bringing Texas its own Palace of Versailles.
Originally from Midwest City, Oklahoma, Kemp made his MLB debut for the Dodgers in 2006. In 2024, he announced his retirement from playing professional baseball but was hired by the Dodgers in a front-office advisory role.

We took a tour of Kemp’s house in Celina, “The Estate at Honey Lane,” located at 2005 Honey Lane. It was built in 2023 on 5.5 acres in a private gated community. It totals 10,949 square feet, has five bedrooms and eight bathrooms, and has some of the most extravagant amenities we've ever seen.

Batting Cage
Did we mention that Kemp was in the MLB? Of course, the three-time all-star's home would have an indoor batting cage, with dozens of bats to choose from and a pitching machine. With a room this size, a buyer will either be a baseball player already or will undoubtedly leave as one.

Temperature-Controlled Wine Cellar
For a house as extravagant as this, a room dedicated to the finer things in life (a surplus of wine, in this case) is a staple. What pairs well with a $6.5 million house? Perhaps a pinot noir or riesling if you prefer white.

Seven-Car Garage
If you're making a $6.5 million investment into a house, the property is likely not your only expensive asset. As such, a sleek seven-car garage could be the perfect necessary solution to an unnecessary collection.

Putting Green
A small putting green is the centerpiece of a fantastic backyard party. It flanks a nice seating area and an outdoor kitchen with a grill, pizza oven and beer tap.

Massive Walk-in Closet
First question: Who could need that many shoes? Filling this much shelf space with shoes stresses us out to the highest degree, given the number of variables to consider when putting together an outfit. Nevertheless, this room made for the most colorful photos and a uniquely poppy aesthetic.

Heated Pool and Spa
Luxury living isn't complete (as if we would know) without some devotion to rejuvenation. Next to the home's walking trail in the back, a beautiful heated pool, spa and hot tub are perfect for relaxing after a long day of batting practice.
