Is it an amusement park? An indoor entertainment center? A trampoline park? Not quite. But a fresh new way to have fun is coming to Arlington this March when Slick City Action Park opens its doors. Described on its website as the world’s first indoor slide and air court park, this 25,000-square-foot playground intends to bring on a slippery good time.

Arlington marks the company's second location in the DFW metro area. The first opened in Denton in September 2024 and is already packing in the crowds, with plenty of positive Google reviews to back it up. Slick City also has two other locations in the Houston area, plus seven more across the country and an impressive 17 under construction.

“Our growth in Texas has been nothing short of spectacular,” said CEO Bron Launsby in an opening announcement release. “The community has given us an enormously warm welcome, and I’m proud to continue our expansion.”

Slick City Action Parks was founded in 2021 when Launsby partnered with the inventor of Slick Slide, Gary Schmit, to bring a new and exciting concept to the adventure park industry. What makes this “waterless slide park” unique is its proprietary technology that allows super slippery, non-friction slides. Guests use a special proprietary mat to slide through the different attractions. Another of Slick City’s crew’s goals is “keeping all innovation processes in-house, with 48 patents filed or granted for their proprietary slides so far.”

Some of the slides guests will find at the Arlington location are Rush, Mega Launch and Avalanche. A special shoutout goes to the Royal Flush, which will make its debut in the DFW market and is exclusive to this location in Texas — though it can be found at other Slick City parks, according to the release. Slick City Arlington will also have two action-packed sports air courts for basketball and dodgeball. (An air court is a mashup of sports courts and trampolines where participants play sports while bouncing.)

Slip Into Fun

Slick City Park, located at 1100 W. Arbrook Blvd. in Arlington, is open to all ages. While the actual slides are reserved for anyone 4 years old and older, toddlers under 45 inches tall have the Junior Jungle, which allows them to start training their meteoric-jump skills from a young age. The youngest kids seem to be the group getting the most out of the park — according to users' reviews throughout the web — the Slick City team strongly insists that the slides will entertain all ages, and even hosts adults-only nights.

Adults Only Night is an “exclusive evening of entertainment tailored just for adults,” according to Slick City Park website. In this out-of-the-box soiree, guests can “unwind with friends or make new connections in a fun atmosphere designed for those 18 and older.”

The Arlington location opens on March 15. Visitors can choose between a 90-minute pass for $25.99 or a 120-minute one for $30.99. Junior tickets (ages 3 and under) start at $13.99. Heads up: As with most indoor parks, you’ll need to buy anti-slippery branded socks. But hey, CitySocks are only $4.99 for a pair.

Slick City Action Park is also “generating 75+ job opportunities in the community,” said Kevin Dugal, vice president of operations of Slick City Action Park, in its opening announcement release. Slick City held a job fair in March looking for “enthusiastic, guest-focused individuals with passion and dedication to join the Slick City Action Park team,” it added in the statement. Applications are always welcome.

Whether or not slides are your thing, this will be a great addition to the entertainment options in Arlington, especially on Texas' devilishly hot or rainy days. The non-slide lovers in the group can access the park as spectators and, well, spectate (or catch up on text messages) without paying for a ticket.
