Being in your twenties in this past decade has certainly brought upon an anger and animosity at older generations, politics and society. Banksy's street pieces scattered across the map sparked a new fascination with street art and their greater social meaning. Texas Christian University recognizes that value and is having indigenous Panamanian street artist Ologwagdi Diaz Rivera stay for a residency from March 20-28. On the 22nd, there will be a lecture exposing students and the public to the concerns of Latin American social protest movements and the power of art when words are not enough. So, definitely head to TCU (2800 S. University Dr.) on Tuesday at 5pm to learn about the dirtier life of protest involving paint and iconic imagery in less conventional locations. Admission is free.
