There are no Sharks and no Jets dancing about onstage, but there are plenty of dreams about life in America going on In the Heights, the Tony and Grammy winning musical that takes you on a three-day journey into New York’s Washington Heights neighborhood, a Latino community that’s on the edge of transformation, where families dreams and romance are constantly threatened by financial concerns. Nothing will stop this Latino community in Upper Manhattan from throwing a salsa-dancing party in the streets, even when the lights go out, business close and trouble strikes the barrio. In the Heights runs through March 25 at the AT&T Performing Arts Center, 2403 Flora St. Tickets start at $30. For more information, visit attpac.org.
Thursdays-Sundays, 8 p.m.; Sat., March 24, 2 p.m.; Sun., March 25, 2 & 7:30 p.m. Starts: March 22. Continues through March 25, 2012
