$10,000

You’ll have two chances to see God or Satan in the next few days if you head to Denton. (And you thought it would be another lazy weekend waiting for sunshine around the pool.) As stars in their own back-to-back student-directed plays at University of North Texas, the Opposition Duo will be looking for your votes (read: your butts in a seat) at either Dog Sees God or Alice in Wonderland. In the dark farce Dog, Peanuts’ blockhead Charlie Brown runs the modern high school gauntlet. In the updated Alice, Cheshire Cat Satan taunts Alice through a personal “hands-on” hell. Who’s your man? Dog Sees God shows at 8 p.m. Friday and 2:30 p.m. Saturday, while Alice in Wonderland shows at 8 p.m. Thursday, 8 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday in UNT’s Studio Theater, Welch and Chesnut Streets in Denton. Call 940-565-2428 or visit danceandtheatre.unt.edu.

Fri., Aug. 10, 8 p.m.; Sat., Aug. 11, 2:30 p.m.
