We know — the economic times are hard. We believe that our work of reporting on the critical stories unfolding right now is more important than ever.

We need to raise $6,000 to meet our goal by August 10. If you’re able to make a contribution of any amount, your dollars will make an immediate difference in helping ensure the future of local journalism in Dallas. Thanks for reading the Dallas Observer.

So there’s Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Walt, Fred, Chaz and Rodrigue, plus some other dude, right? Uh, being old stinks. We all need a crash course in childhood if we want to keep the magic alive, especially around the holidays. So maybe this is the year that you — the lone adult — go see Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, the Musical at the AT&T Performing Arts Center (2403 Flora St.). Or be less Grinchy and bring your friends and family, whatever. The show’s a musical romp through the classic Christmas tale with songs adapted from the 1964 TV special. Watch Rudolph, Hermey the Elf and Yukon Cornelious as they help Santa save Christmas! There are also a few deep-cut characters, like King Moonracer, Misfit Toys and Abominable Snow Monster told with puppetry. The show runs through December 29, and times vary. Tickets range $20 to $65. Visit attpac.org.
Tuesdays, Thursdays-Sundays. Starts: Dec. 10. Continues through Dec. 29, 2013
