To toast awakening talents, boast of independent voices and post diverse visions that raise civic consciousness and mine the shared veins of experience—both light and dark. Landmark's Magnolia Theater will host a solo exhibition of Dallas native Benjamin Hancock's mixed-media creations, titled BitterSweet, in its upper Bar Gallery, curated by Sarah Jane Semrad. His whimsically iconic panels of childhood passions and natural reverence have earned him a following in past shows. Opening reception will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at 3699 McKinney Ave. in the West Village. The exhibit runs through May 27. For information visit landmarktheaters.com.
