Other than value menus at many a drive-through, the dollar doesn’t carry much weight. That reality slapped me in the face when I bought a pack of gum for a $1.19 at Target. And since when did “dollar movies” start charging a buck-fifty? Forget that, I’m heading to the Dallas Zoo as they say thanks to the public with one-buck admission. Heck, I’ll even treat a couple of friends as long as they buy my $5 soda. The Dallas Zoo, 650 S. R.L. Thornton Freeway, offers Dollar Day on Tuesday with free admission for children under three.
