Rick Halperin is the director of the Embrey Human Rights Program at Southern Methodist University. He began teaching human rights classes at SMU in 1990. Three times he has served on the board of directors of Amnesty International USA. He has also been a board member for the National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty and the Texas Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty.
