Melissa Lucio Execution Halted for now by Court of Criminal Appeals

For the last 14 years, Melissa Lucio has maintained her innocence while facing execution for the death of her 2-year-old daughter Mariah. The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals just halted her execution and ordered a review of her claims that, among other things, the state used false testimony and suppressed evidence favorable to her case.
