Lisa Laman is a life-long movie fan, writer, and Rotten Tomatoes-approved critic located both on the autism spectrum and in Texas. While she's written for the Dallas Observer since March 2024, she's also a Critic's Choice Association member that's been published in a wide array of outlets such as Polygon, The Spool, ScarleTeen, Fangoria, Culturess, Collider, AutoStraddle, and many more. Her works focus largely on reviewing and analyzing film, as well as drawing from her personal experiences as a queer neurodivergent Texan. She also co-hosts the weekly box office podcast The Outside Scoop and secured a Master of Arts in Visual and Performing Arts from the University of Texas at Dallas in May 2022. When she isn't writing or watching movies, Lisa can be found reading good books, doing karaoke with friends, playing with her pugs, and enjoying great Tex-Mex food.
